About the Author
J Nell Brown is an involuntary insomniac who works as a medical doctor in a small Southern town and writes in her free time.
She writes fiction that paints a human likeness upon the faceless and gifts a voice to the voiceless via her coming-of-age adventure stories spiced with a hint of romance, and scientific and supernatural twists.
Her snail mail letters, The Orphan Dreamer Letters, and novels feature an epic scale and a historical hook.
Her novels can be raw and gut-wrenching while splashed with comedy and sweetness and are best enjoyed by readers who are sixteen years old or older.
Her Orphan Dreamer Letters feature the more lighthearted parts of the Orphan Dreamer Saga and are appropriate for all ages.
Brown is a self-proclaimed nerd and loves all things scientific. Her love of science is reflected in her research at Los Alamos National Laboratory, the site for the development of the atomic bomb.
Because of her love of science and math, her snail mail letters and her novels feature STEM concepts and references to nutrition and medicine.
Before attending medical school, she majored in Human Nutrition and received a minor in Education.
She loves to travel, hike, and explore other cultures while secretly scooping up ideas and settings for her next novel and her Orphan Dreamer Letters. Eating healthy and delicious food, reading, hiking, and cuddling with her dog, Faith, gives her joy.
